Meghan Markle’s rift with King Charles’ mother comes to light

Meghan Markle’s row with Prince Harry’s family at the time of her marriage has sparked a debate about the ‘sour note’ it instilled for years to come.

Royal expert, Richard Eden made this comment in one of the most recent interviews’ with Reading the Royals.

He began by noting how big a “source of some arguments,” that initial tiff became during the wedding planning, and set a “bad tone” in hindsight.

For those unversed it revolves around the Queen Mary’s Bandeau Tiara priced at £2million that Meghan wore during her wedding.

For those unversed, Queen Elizabeth’s former aide Angela Kelly was in charge of the jewelry for the occasion and that’s when the argument erupted over the headpiece.

And “then in Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, he confirmed it all. He said there had been a big row and essentially, it was because they felt that Angela Kelly was getting too big for her boots.”

“She was not turning up; she was not agreeing to dates when they thought Meghan could see them and it was a sign that…full of, sort of bitterness, really, that Harry felt that Meghan wasn’t being treated as she should.”

“That, you know, everyone should show her great respect and here was, you know, a servant, as he saw it, who was just being quite difficult and obstructive.”

Before concluding he also said, “And it was one of those things that really, sort of, set a bad tone for the marriage and their relationship with the Royal Family.”
