Starting from Punjab and making waves in Bollywood, Diljit Dosanjh has now taken the global stage by storm. Fresh off his electrifying performance at Lollapalooza, this Punjabi music sensation is set to notch another milestone: an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
The episode, set to air on June 17, will feature the Kinni Kinni singer alongside comedy legend Eddie Murphy and The Bear’s Matty Matheson. An ecstatic Diljit shared the news on Instagram, posting a screenshot of the guest line-up and igniting a wave of excitement among his fans and colleagues. Kareena Kapoor Khan, his recent co-star in Crew, exclaimed, “Uffff!” while Anil Kapoor, Neha Dhupia and others showered him with applause emojis.
Besides the Lover singer, a few Bollywood stars have appeared on The Tonight Show. Over the years, Priyanka Chopra became a regular on the show and has been seen introducing Fallon to several Indian festivals. However, fans are now waiting to see what Diljit and Jimmy would talk about on the show.
One fan perfectly summed up the sentiment with, “The Punjabis have arrived,” while another eagerly anticipated Fallon attempting Punjabi, commenting, “Can’t wait to see Jimmy Fallon speaking in Punjabi.” Others celebrated Diljit’s achievement, with one fan sweetly noting, “Very well deserved and congratulations! Jimmy and his crew are not ready for this party.” Another optimistically predicted a Hollywood debut, “Hollywood is not far from you now, I think a new move for Diljit will be a Hollywood movie.”
Meanwhile, back on his home turf, Diljit recently attended the trailer launch of Jatt & Juliet 3 in Mumbai. His co-star Neeru Bajwa couldn’t hold back her admiration, hailing him as a rockstar. “Everything that he has done for the generation, even for the kids who have faced racism, for me and everybody. I had attended his show once and the feeling cannot be put in words. Seeing him grow, I get emotional. He is our rockstar, our superstar, and we love him,” she gushed.
